Previously , it has been applied in Ann Siang Road and Haji Lane. However, as judged lacking, URA would like to add facilities for pedestrians. The latest addition is at Circular Road which came into effect last October.Not only that , Formula 1 race track will also be adjusted to provide a new public space in the area of Empress Place , right in front of the Victoria Theatre.While at Esplanade Park, will be built new waterfront promenade plaza equipped with allowing people to get closer to the water.URA expects most of these plans will be completed in 2015 and coincided with the opening of the National Art Gallery, Victoria Theatre renovation and the addition of ACM area.Director for Urban Planning and Design URA , Fun Siew Leng, say, is the time and the right concept for the URA to implement big plans, improve the capacity and quality of public space in a comprehensive manner."Community involvement is very important in the creation of a better public space, "said Leng.URA invites the public to participate by submitting ideas for the design of four new public space in the city . The new public space is The Lawn @ Marina Bay, space along the Singapore River Promenade, the open space in Kampong Glam and Woodlands Civic Plaza.
